Foster Care

Not ready for a long-term relationship? Instead, why not become a foster parent to one of our rescue dogs?

What to expect if you foster one of Tender Hearts Dog Rescue's dogs

If you decide to foster one of our dogs remember that it is temporary until a forever home is found. The foster placement can take anywhere from a few days to a couple months.

During the dog’s stay with you, you will be provided all things necessary for the care of the dog, i.e., leash, harness, food, etc.

THDR has experienced volunteers to help you work through any issues or problem behaviors that may develop. If the situation is untenable, the dog can be moved to another foster home.

Foster families are the heart of Tender Hearts Dog Rescue. Rather than having a dog live in a shelter where they might become depressed or withdrawn, foster families rescue our dogs and have them live in their warm and comforting homes. This not only helps the dog adjust to family life, it is a place where they survive and ultimately thrive.
